Ep 43: Poo Poo Parade - Blame

In this week's episode of the Daring DVM Podcast we are examining our Poo Poo Parade Participant #3 - Blame.

The sneaky part about blame is that it feels really good in the moment to transfer responsibility away from yourself to something external, like another person or the situation that you're in.

It can also feel good to transfer the responsibility of your experience to something that happened in the past. And to make something else or someone else carry the burden of how you feel for something that happened.

But this is actually one of the worst things that you can do to yourself!

Because when you assign responsibility to something external to you, you are giving all of your power away.

Join Dr. Amy this week as we discuss:

  • The difference between placing blame and assigning responsibility.
  • The difference between being a victim and being in a victim-mindset.
  • Why and how blaming things external to you (people, the past, your current circumstance) disempowers you.
  • How blame is a nervous system adaptation that in the moment feels as if it is keeping us safe, but in the long run is preventing us from creating the life that we truly want to live.
